About Us
Roseings was launched in July 2020 in the midst of a pandemic, I was 21 weeks pregnant with my second child and had a rambunctious toddler in tow. The timing may have seemed unwise (read: quite frankly bonkers!) but looking around I believed I could add a little sparkle to those dark times.
My vision was to not only design and handcraft gorgeous products, but to create a company that had a voice and wasn't afraid to use it. Roseings is a socially conscious fashion company, committed to meaningful self-empowerment and racial equality.
In October 2020, award-winning journalist and diversity advocate Ateh Jewel and I teamed up to bring a hair crown to the market that wasn't just a beautiful statement piece but a social one too, a representation of the fight for social justice and equality symbolised by its name the Kamala. The first ever Kamala band was sold a week before Etta was born in November. In Summer 2021, Ateh and I partnered up again to launch a second bold and beautiful hair crown, the Gorman, in honour of the inspirational poet Amanda Gorman, to encourage you to #crownyourself and 'stand taller, straighter, prouder'.
It hasn't always been easy, but so many of you across the globe have embraced Roseings London, our brand ethos and beautiful headbands, seeing them as we do, not just gorgeous and practical accessories but symbols of your empowerment.
Keep fighting, keep smiling and stay hopeful.
